Agreement on Cooperation with National Alternative Investment Management Association (NAIMA) Has Been Signed

On 10 February 2017, Institute of Modern Arbitration and National Alternative Investment Management Association (NAIMA) signed the agreement on cooperation related to the development and promotion of arbitration, including in the field of investment activities, in the Russian Federation.

Institute of Modern Arbitration was established in 2016 as a research and practice platform for modernizing arbitration in Russia. Institute of Modern Arbitration regularly organizes conferences and educational events related to the dispute resolution and development of arbitration. Institute of Modern Arbitration has also established the Arbitration Center, which main function is to administer disputes in a modern, efficient and professional manner based on the best global practices in this field (www.centerarbitr.ru).

National Alternative Investment Management Association aims at facilitating the influx of foreign capital into the Russian economy and forming a class of institutional investors focused on long-term investment. The Association was established in 2011 and purports to consolidate the efforts to develop the markets of direct and venture investments, real estate, infrastructure and other classes of alternative investments. The members of the Association are the leading Russian and foreign asset managing companies, audit and law firms, investment banks and development institutions.

The Agreement on cooperation is intended to facilitate promotion of alternative dispute resolution in the Russian Federation, including in the field of investment activities, as well as to improve investment climate and increase the attractiveness of Russia as a place for doing business.
