About FDI Moot
Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot) is a student moot court competition in investment arbitration, comprising more than 50 teams from the universities all around the world.
The teams argue the case based on the mock dispute between a foreign investor and a host state that addresses most topical issues of jurisdiction and merits (standards of protection of foreign investors in investment treaties). There are usually 5 legal issues to analyze.

This year global rounds of FDI Moot will be held on November 2-5 in Lucknow, Inidia with an oppotunity to participate virtually. More information about FDI can be found at https://fdimoot.org.

In recent years, teams from Russian universities have shown really good results in the global rounds of FDI Moot. In 2018, the team from Lomonosov Moscow State University won the competition. In 2019, for the first time in the history of the competition, an entire Russian final was held with teams from MGIMO and St. Petersburg State University. First place went to the team from St. Petersburg State University. In 2022, St. Petersburg State University was the runner-up of the competition.
