[contests_years cat="fiamc-ru"]

Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court (FIAMC) – student competition in the area of investment arbitration gathering each year more than 40 teams from all over the globe.

The competition is organized as simulated international arbitration proceedings between an investor and a host country. Specialists with a significant experience in investment disputes act as arbitrators in a moot court.

Teams represent their positions in a dispute based on historic events and concerning the most topical questions of jurisdiction and merits (standards of protection in international investment treaties). Traditionally, there are 9 questions given for the teams’ analysis.

The competition comprises 2 stages:

The first stage (written) – preparation of skeleton arguments to be further introduced to the opposing team 30 minutes before the oral round.

Second stage (oral) – presentation of legal arguments by the Claimant and the Respondent.
