New Horizons of International Arbitration

Become an Author of the Collected Volume “New Horizons of International Arbitration”

The collected volume New Horizons of International Arbitration has been published since 2013 and represents a unique academic edition that brings together carefully selected articles reviewed by the scientific editors. The main criteria for selection are academic originality and the depth of analysis of pressing issues in international arbitration.

The volume reflects the contemporary development of international arbitration scholarship in Russia and abroad, offering new approaches to understanding and applying the practice of international commercial and investment arbitration. It is intended for practising lawyers, scholars, lecturers, postgraduate researchers, and law students, as well as for all those interested in alternative dispute resolution.

Traditionally, the release of the volume is accompanied by the Russian Arbitration Day (RAD) academic and practical conference, where the authors present their articles and deliver reports. The conference sessions are moderated by the scientific editors of the volume, making RAD a significant professional platform for academic exchange and the advancement of legal science. The conference is held in Russian and English, with simultaneous interpretation and live broadcast, thus attracting a wide international audience.

The scientific editors of the 2027 edition of the Volume are:

  • Anna Arkhipova

    Associate Professor at S.S. Alexeyev Private Law Research Center, Deputy Head of Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

  • Mikhail Galperin

    Doctor of Sciences, Professor at the HSE University and the Private Law Research Centre (PLRC), Member of the Management Board at Inter RAO

  • Yulia Mullina

    General Director, the International and Comparative Law Research Center (ICLRC), MCIArb

We invite authors to prepare articles on the following thematic areas:

  • The intersection of substantive and procedural law in international arbitration;
  • The evolution of classical doctrines and the emergence of new principles in international arbitration;
  • The dual nature of development in international arbitration: the challenges of fragmentation and the prospects for harmonisation;
  • The influence of public international law on international commercial arbitration;
  • A new era in dispute resolution;
  • Key actors in international commercial arbitration;
  • Factors transforming the modern arbitration landscape;
  • Unresolved challenges in arbitration.

Please note that the proposed topics serve as general guidance and do not limit the scope of possible research. We welcome submissions offering a profound and fundamental perspective on the development of international arbitration—papers that analyse and explore conceptual issues rather than merely addressing temporary practical challenges.

If you plan to prepare an article on a different topic, this is also encouraged, provided that the significance of the chosen issue is well justified and its academic value clearly demonstrated.

We also note that, at this initial stage, the thematic areas are not yet assigned to specific scientific editors.

To become an author of the ninth edition of the collected volume New Horizons of International Arbitration, please complete the registration form by 21 April 2026.
